Please read this agreement carefully. It explains how the After Eden group works, your rights and responsibilities, and the policies you are agreeing to. If anything is unclear, we can review it together during your free consultation before you sign.

1. About This Group

After Eden is an 8-week, online therapy group for women in Arizona and Washington who are deconstructing Mormonism, navigating a faith transition, or healing after leaving the LDS Church. Each session blends trauma-informed education, group processing, and space for reflection.

  • Format: Online, via Alma’s confidential telehealth platform

  • Schedule: Wednesdays, 9:00–10:30 a.m.

  • Dates: July 8 – August 26, 2026 (8 weekly sessions)

  • Group size: Limited to 8 women

  • Fee: $340 for the full 8-week program, cash-pay only

2. What Group Therapy Is - Benefits and Risks

Group therapy offers connection, shared understanding, and the chance to feel less alone in your experience. Many people find it powerful to be witnessed by others who truly understand.

It also carries some risks. Difficult emotions and memories may surface. Group members may share differing views or experiences, and there is no guarantee of a particular outcome. Participation is most helpful when you engage openly and at your own pace. You are never required to share more than you choose to.

3. Confidentiality

What is shared in group stays in group. As the facilitator, I am bound by law and professional ethics to protect your privacy. Because this is a group, your confidentiality also depends on the other members.

Your commitment: You agree to keep the identity of other members and anything they share strictly confidential, and not to discuss it outside of group.

Important limits to confidentiality. By law and ethics, I may be required to disclose information without your consent if:

  • There is a risk of serious harm to yourself or another person

  • There is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult

  • I am ordered by a court to release information

Please also understand that while I will do everything in my professional capacity to protect confidentiality, I cannot guarantee that other group members will honor their commitment to it.

4. Telehealth Consent

This group is conducted entirely online. By participating, you understand and agree that:

  • You will join from a private, quiet location where others cannot overhear the session, using a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone.

  • You must be physically located within Arizona or Washington during each session, as I am licensed to provide services only in those states. Please notify me if your location changes.

  • You will not record any part of the session, and you agree that no other member may record you.

  • Telehealth has limits: technology can fail, and it may not suit every clinical need. If you are disconnected, the facilitator will attempt to rejoin for 5 minutes, then contact you via email to notify you of next steps, and/or reschedule, if appropriate. If the disconnection issue is the fault of the facilitator, the group will be notified as soon as possible so a new session can be rescheduled if more than 45 minutes remains in the session. If disconnection occurs and rescheduling is not appropriate, a refund or credit will not be refunded.

  • Telehealth is not an emergency service (see Section 7).

Sessions are held via Alma’s confidential video platform.

5. Group Guidelines

  • Attend consistently and arrive on time. Your presence matters to the group.

  • Treat every member with respect. Differing experiences are welcome; judgment and proselytizing are not.

  • Share at your own pace and respect others’ right to do the same.

  • Keep the focus on support and healing rather than advice-giving.

  • No recording, screenshots, or sharing of any session content.

6. Fees, Payment & Cancellation

Because After Eden is a small, closed group limited to 8 women, your payment reserves your place for the full 8-week program. The following policy keeps the space consistent and fair for everyone:

  • Full payment of $340 is due at registration to confirm your spot.

  • If you withdraw before the group begins, you will receive a full refund if you cancel by July 1, 2026 (one week before the start date). After that date, fees are non-refundable, as your spot is held and others may have been turned away.

  • Once the group has begun, fees are non-refundable, including for any sessions you are unable to attend, because your place is reserved for all eight weeks.

  • If a significant emergency arises, please talk with me. Where I am able, I will offer a partial credit toward a future group at my discretion.

  • If the facilitator needs to cancel a session, it will be rescheduled or credited towards a future group cohort.

  • If the group does not reach minimum enrollment, I will notify you and refund your payment in full.

Payment can be made via a credit or debit card. A card on file is required to pay the registration fee. Any late/returned-payments may be subject to Collections or additional fees. Superbills for group therapy are available, if requested.

7. Crisis & Emergencies

This group is not a crisis or emergency service, and I am not available for crisis response between sessions.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or are concerned for your safety, please use one of the following:

  • Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), available 24/7

  • Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room

8. Voluntary Participation

Your participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw from the group at any time. If you choose to leave, I encourage us to discuss your decision so I can support your transition and, if helpful, offer referrals. Withdrawal does not change the cancellation policy in Section 6.

9. Relationship to Individual Therapy

Group therapy is not a substitute for individual therapy or psychiatric care. If you are working with an individual therapist or other provider, group can complement that care. If you are not, I am glad to discuss whether additional support may be helpful and to provide referrals.
