Frequently Asked Questions.
Getting Started.
-
I primarily work with women and gender nonconforming adults.
I specialize in religious trauma and faith deconstruction, but I also work with people who are navigating issues like anxiety, depression, codependency and relationship difficulty, and other kinds of trauma.
-
My orientation is integrative and trauma-informed. I am an EMDR Therapy and I draw from theories like parts work / Internal Family Systems (IFS), Relational Psychodynamic Therapy, attachment work, and trauma-sensitive practices.
I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space where you can unpack what matters to you, build insight, and grow healthier patterns at your own pace.

In our first session, we’ll get to know each other. You’ll have space to describe what brings you here, what feels hard or overwhelming, or what you hope to change. I’ll ask questions to understand your background and current circumstances, and we’ll begin to explore what you want to focus on. Together, we’ll clarify goals and start to map out a plan.

Therapy is a process, and often unfolds differently for each person.
Some sessions are focused on what I like to call “the monster of the week,” which is a single incident or concern that is distressing a client that week. Other sessions might be a continuation of the previous session or ongoing, focused work.
Every session will begin simply by me asking, “Where do you want to start?”
-
Improvement can show up in different ways: maybe you start to feel more grounded, less reactive, or more in tune with your needs and boundaries. You might notice shifts in how you relate to others, how you care for yourself, or how you navigate stress.
Therapy isn’t linear and can sometimes feel like things are “getting worse before they get better.” It’s not always smooth or comfortable, but over time many clients report increased insight, clarity, and a greater sense of empowerment.

Right now, I only accept insurance in the state of Arizona. I work with Alma and in-network with these plans:
Aetna
Anthem
Cigna
UnitedHealthcare
Oscar
Carelon
In Washington state, I do not accept insurance, but use an Equitable Payment Structure for my rates.
I also provide superbills for clients to submit to their insurance for out-of-network reimbursement (if that’s an option for your plan).
-
For clients in Washington state or Arizona clients who are out-of-network or uninsured, I offer an Equitable Payment Structure for my rates.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. I also offer EMDR Intensive Sessions (90-120 minutes) for clients who prefer or need additional time in session.
-
If you feel like we might be a good fit, the first step is to schedule a free video consultation. That way, we can connect, you can ask any questions you have, and we can get a sense of whether working together feels like a right match.
Fees, Payment, Session Logistics.

Currently, all sessions are online via telemedicine with the exception of group therapy sessions, which are offered in person in the East Valley of Phoenix.
As I expand my practice in Arizona, I may open an office for in-person clients, but this is not an option at this time.
-
Confidentiality is one of the most important aspects of therapy.
I adhere to professional and legal standards for privacy and confidentiality. What you share in session stays between us, unless there’s a legal or safety exception, which we will discuss together in therapy.
-
Yes, but only if you choose to opt in.
I use Alma for my electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth video platform. Alma offers an optional, HIPAA-compliant A.I. assistant that helps with note-taking. If you opt in, here’s how it works:
Your session is temporarily audio-recorded so the A.I. can generate a draft note.
I personally review, edit, and finalize the note after our session to ensure accuracy and clinical appropriateness.
The audio recording is automatically deleted as soon as the note is saved.
Recordings are not stored on any server, are never used to train A.I., and cannot be accessed later by you, by me, or by Alma.
You are not required to use this feature. If you prefer that no recordings occur, no problem!
This tool is completely optional and is only used with your explicit consent. Whether you opt in or out, your privacy and confidentiality remain my highest priority.

Yes – while I’m experienced in trauma, relational, and spiritual-wound work, I do not treat certain conditions (e.g., severe psychosis, active suicidal intent, or situations requiring intensive medical/psychiatric care).
If I assess that someone would be better served by another type of provider, I’ll refer out with care and respect.

That’s a very common feeling!
Many clients begin therapy with unclear or un-defined concerns, and that’s perfectly okay. We’ll start from where you are. Even if you don’t “know exactly what’s wrong,” therapy can help you explore what’s showing up, what feels off, and what’s worth healing.
